Valley Regional Hospital, a member of Dartmouth Health, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new medical office building on Wednesday, June 4. Construction of the building began this spring across the street from the hospital’s Elm Street campus in Claremont.

The hospital’s outpatient and clinic services are currently delivered in multiple buildings across the campus that are less conducive to modern healthcare standards. Facilities with small rooms, narrow hallways, and outdated infrastructure present challenges that impact accessibility, efficiency, and the overall patient experience. The new medical office building will address these challenges by consolidating key services into a single, state-of-the-art facility.

Once completed, the 25,000-square-foot medical office building will bring together primary care, pediatrics, orthopaedics, and behavioral health under one roof, allowing for increased care coordination. The building will house 32 exam rooms, an on-site X-ray suite, and phlebotomy services for convenient and timely diagnostics.

“Valley Regional’s plan to build our new medical office building reflects our unwavering commitment to providing access to high-quality care, now and for generations to come,” said Matthew R. Foster, MD, MMM, CEO and president of Valley Regional. “This is truly a community investment. It is a clear demonstration of our long-term commitment to meet the needs of the people we serve by enhancing the patient experience and fostering an environment where employees can thrive and deliver exceptional care. The new facility will help us attract and retain top healthcare providers, reduce wait times, and improve care coordination, enabling us to better meet the needs of our growing community. We are excited about the positive impact this project will have on Claremont, Sullivan County, and our surrounding communities. We are proud to continue to offer our neighbors world-class care.”

The $20 million project is funded through board-designated funds, support from Dartmouth Health, and $3 million in philanthropic contributions from donors.
